About Us
Texas Attitude. Texas Grit.
Fierce independence. Unshakeable pride. Go Big or Go Home. That is Texas. That is Rana Guitars.
That Antidote to Modern Guitar Manufacturing
Most modern guitars are designed to satisfy a spreadsheet, not a musician. When an instrument is treated as a unit of profit, the soul of the build is lost to the speed of the CNC machine. At Rana Guitars, the philosophy is different: an instrument should never hold a player back. It should be the spark that helps unleash creative potential.
Deeply rooted in Wise County, Texas, this shop was founded on the belief that a guitar needs more than just strings and wood—it needs attitude. We look back to the 1950s and 60s, an era when guitars had a distinct "feel" that mass production simply cannot replicate. We aren't interested in cutting corners to save a buck; we’re interested in building the kind of guitar you can’t put down.

Texas Attitude. Texas Grit.
In Texas, your work is your word. There is no "good enough". Pride isn't based on the paycheck. It's based on the reputation of the brand.
Quality. Without Compromise.
In a world of big-box manufacturing, the small details are the first to be sacrificed. Often, "industry-standard" guitars are shipped with minimal or no electronic shielding and budget internal components to pad the bottom line. That doesn't happen at Rana Guitars. Most modern guitars are built to last the warranty period. Our guitars are built to be an heirloom passed down from generation to generation.
Every component in our guitars is chosen for a specific, functional reason. That's why we use the best boutique pickups, top-tier electronics, and purpose-made hardware. If it isn't the best available, it doesn't make it onto the bench or into the instrument.
Texas Attitude. Texas Grit.
In Texas, if something is "fussy", it's broken. We build guitars that refuse to get in your way. Our philosophy is to eliminate any barriers between the player's soul and the amplifier.
Built for the Player.
We believe that the guitar should be a physical extension of the player. There should be no barriers between your heart and the music. One of the most common complaints about modern guitars is the feel of the neck. Thick lacquer that feels like plastic is normally the culprit. Serious players usually sand it off. Vintage instruments feel so good and are coveted now because the plastic-feeling finish has been worn off after years of use. A Rana Guitar will come to you with that vintage, worn feel. We sand our necks to 8000 grit and then apply oil. That's it.
If a pickup cover has a sharp edge that captures our attention when we play it, we will sand it down. Even the feel of the cable going into the jack is important. The feel of the pickup selector switch should be fluid, but solid. It all matters. If the player notices something "fussy", then the guitar becomes a barrier. We won't have it.

Rana is our family name. In Texas, that means something. Our name will never go an a guitar that is "good enough".
A Shop. Not a factory.
Growth for the sake of growth usually leads to a decline in character. That’s why Rana Guitars isn't—and will never be—a factory. We operate on a model of "Single-Bench Sovereignty."
Every guitar is built, wired, and play-tested by the founder right here in Wise County. We build for the people who value quality over marketing hype. In five years—and fifty years—the mission will remain the same: crafting the highest-quality instruments available for those who know the difference. We aren't building guitars for the masses. We are building guitars for you.
